Hawaiian Ice 03:53
Now that it’s gone, It’s time to move on. When I was sixteen, I’d brandish a crackling Megaphone Down at the Hawaiian Ice stand, And on summer’s angels, I'd read my demands, Inflicting my victims With lunatic dictums In cheerful tones, Rebuking their ignorance; I had the brightest mind, I meant to let it shine, But, Now that it’s gone, It’s time to move on. Thomas, a freshman, Would lead our procession With marching snare And dollar store bunny ears. (This silly obsession persisted for years.) Mg’s of Ritalin Made him a citizen Past repair, Confirming our greatest fears, For he only presaged That process wrought by age. (‘Cuz what life giveth, It certainly may taketh away.) Now you see it, now you don’t: It takes the mind to admit What the heart just won’t. Spontaneous creation, inspiration: wasted, long gone astray. Now that it’s gone, It’s time to move on.

about

Side one is a Quiet Storm ballad relating a white collar paranoid delusion.

Side two is a Cameo-style stomper ruminating on the dog days of brain age. Word down!
